I always love watching movies especially viewing it in our smart TV. But there's one dilemma that I always encounter -- not all digital formats can be read by our television directly via flash drive. Thanks to the WD TV Live, that issue was solved. Not only that I can view all types of media formats, I won't have the hassle of saving it the files in a flash drive. I could access the movies, music, even photos in my laptop wireless via WiFi.
The WD TV Live's size dimension is 4.9-inches (125mm) Wide, 1.2-inches High (30mm), and 3.9-inches (100mm) Deep. Extremely small I must say.
Physical setup was a breeze.. RCA cables are ready and available when you open the box. Simply connect the device to your smart TV. Definitely, you'll be needing a WiFi connection.
The device immediately prompted me to have the firmware upgraded. So I did. Afterwards, the testing began..
It was quite challenging accessing my laptop files via WD TV. It took me awhile to get the right login details. Also, typing the characters using it's remote control is quite time consuming.
Here are some of what you could see when navigating the WD TV.
